Hyundai rolls out first unit of Grand i10 Nios from Chennai plant

Following the Venue and Kona Electric, Hyundai is about to come up with its third all-new model for 2019 in the form of Grand i10 Nios, on 20 August 2019. The company has already started rolling out the car out of its Chennai plant.

1st Grand I10 Nios Roll Out
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be a direct rival of the Ford Figo and the Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Hyundai has already commenced the pre-bookings of the Grand i10 Nios from 7th of this month for a token amount of INR 11,000. When launched, it will be slotted between the Grand i10 and the Elite i20.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios measures 3,805 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width and 1,520 mm in height. It is 40 mm longer and 20 mm wider in comparison to the outgoing model but the same in terms of height. Its wheelbase measures 2,450 mm, which is 25 mm longer.

The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 is available in 10 variants, including four engine-gearbox combinations. There are two BS-VI engine options. The first one is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit delivering 81 BHP of maximum power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The other option is a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder diesel unit which is known to push out 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.

Projector headlamps, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control system, rear AC vents and rear parking camera are some of the key features of the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10. Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Aqua Teal and Alpha Blue are the exterior colour choices.

Expect the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios' prices to start from around INR 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The all-new A-segment hatchback will be a direct rival of the Ford Figo, and it will compete with even the Maruti Suzuki Swift, in terms of pricing.
