Hyundai has confirmed that its models on display at Auto Expo 2018 will include the Hyundai Kona. The small SUV was unveiled in June last year.
The Hyundai Kona is a B-SUV introduced specifically with the developed markets in mind. It is 4,165 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall. It has a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Hyundai offers it with 120 PS 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol, 177 PS 1.6-litre T-GDI, 149 PS 2.0-litre MPI and 136 PS 1.6-litre VGT diesel engines. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic are the transmission choices. An AWD system is available in select configurations.
Cascading grille, split headlight setup with LED primary lights and LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, power sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, colour head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, KRELL premium sound system, Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning are some of the key features of the Kona. The premium small SUV competes with the likes of Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR and Mazda CX-3.

Hyundai has no plans to launch the Kona in India. However, the company will bring its zero-emissions, battery-powered variant called Hyundai Kona Electric to the country next year. It will import the EV via the CKD route and assemble the kits in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
