The Hyundai Kona made its public debut at IAA 2017 in September. This month, the new small SUV was on display at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show for the Middle East audience.
The Hyundai Kona is Hyundai’s latest B-SUV, a product more premium and sophisticated than the Hyundai Creta. The Kona is 4,165 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall. It has a 2,600 mm wheelbase. In the UAE, buyers will have two engine options: 120 PS 1.0L T-GDi and 177 PS 1.6L T-GDi. Both the engines are turbocharged petrol units. The 1.0L T-GDi engine model will have a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels. The 1.6L T-GDi engine model will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4WD system working together to send the drive to the wheels.
The Hyundai Kona has a very bold and athletic design and looks much different from other Hyundai models, particularly because of its unconventional front fascia. Two-tier headlamp setup with LED lighting, Cascading grille, prominent wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-tone colour scheme, LED tail lights and roof spoiler with integrated LED brake light are the key exterior features of the small SUV.
Interior highlights of the Hyundai Kona include heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, heated steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4.2-inch driver information display, head-up display and Krell premium sound system with 8 speakers including external amplifier and subwoofer.
Hyundai is yet to launch the Hyundai Kona in the UAE.
