Outsells the Baleno for the third consecutive month.
For the third consecutive month (March 2016), the Hyundai Elite i20 has outsold the Maruti Baleno by 2,477 units. The sales figure of the Hyundai i20 family (Elite i20+i20 Active) stands at 8,713 units whereas Maruti retailed 6,236 units of the Baleno.
For 2016, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. updated the i20 with new features like projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, a new Phantom Black color and standard fitment of airbags. As for the Baleno, Maruti announced at the Auto Expo 2016 that it will launch a Baleno RS towards the festive season of the year with the 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine.

One of the reasons why Maruti couldn't push out more units of the Baleno, despite receiving well over 100,000 orders, is the limited production capacity of its Manesar plant. They have hinted in increasing the production capacity in the coming months, but, for now, new customers will have to wait for nearly six months for their new Baleno. The Baleno will also be produced at Suzuki's forthcoming Gujarat plant.
