Will only be sold in the Magna grade.
The Hyundai i20 1.4 petrol automatic variant is now available for sale across dealerships from today. It is priced at INR 9.02 Lakhs (INR 9,01,812, ex-showroom Delhi), and will only be sold in the Magna grade.
The automatic variant is powered by a bigger 1.4-liter Dual VTVT four-cylinder petrol that produces 100 PS at 6,000 rpm and 13.5 kgm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed torque converter, making it the only hatchback in its segment to offer the conventional automatic gearbox.
As the i20 automatic is only available in the Magna grade, it misses out on features like ABS and EBD, alloy wheels, projector headlights, keyless entry, rear parking camera and sensors, touchscreen entertainment system and automatic climate control. Some of the noteworthy features available in the Magna grade include dual front airbags, rear HVAC vents, chilled glovebox, and 2 DIN audio system with Bluetooth and 1 GB storage.

The Hyundai i20 petrol AT is priced higher than its closest rivals: the Honda Jazz CVT and Maruti Baleno CVT, but manages to undercut the VW Polo GT TSI (7-speed dual clutch gearbox) by a small margin. The expensive price tag can be attributed to the larger displacement engine, due to which the i20 AT is not classified as a ‘small car’ and the corresponding excise duty increases from 12.5 percent to 24 percent.
