Following the footsteps of the Ford Figo and Tata Nano, Hyundai’s entry-level car, the Eon is all set to enter the Nepalese market. Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd, authorized distributor of Hyundai in Nepal will start taking the bookings once the car is launched at the end of this month.
The Hyundai Eon will be positioned below Santro and according to the officials at LIPL, four variants of the car – D-Lite, D-Lite Plus, Era Plus and Sportz - have already cleared the customs and will hit the market by the last week of February.
The Eon is powered by a 814 cc three-cylinder engine which generates 56bhp power and a torque of 76.5Nm. Hyundai is targeting the entry-level customers and with its Fluidic Sculpture design, effortless maneuverability and a mileage of over 20kmpl.
Prices will be revealed once this car is launched but similar to the older launches, the country’s high import duties are going to push the prices to 7-9 lakh rupees.
