Start of production reportedly on June 20.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Rishabh Neb, snapped these images of the forthcoming Hyundai Creta compact SUV near New Delhi recently. According to a recent report, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has advanced the launch of the Creta by a couple of months.
The Creta will reportedly enter production at HMIL's Chennai facility on June 20, and a market launch will take place on July 21. The Creta will be offered with petrol and diesel engines, and manual and automatic transmissions at the time of launch.
The Creta seen here is likely a mid-level variant on test, indicated by the manual aircon system. However, it sports alloy wheels, projector headlights, integrated turn signals on the wing mirrors, a rear wiper and a 6-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai, in the Indian market, offers a 6-speed manual transmission on the diesel variants of its products like the Verna, Elite i20 and i20 Active. The Creta is expected to borrow the 1.6-liter VTVT petrol and the 1.6-liter CRDi diesel from the Verna, whereas a base variant with the 1.4-liter CRDi diesel engine could also be offered at an attractive entry-level price.
