Slots between the Grandeur and Genesis.
The Hyundai Aslan premium saloon which premiered at the Busan Motor Show this year as the Hyundai AG, has been spotted in South Korea a week before the commencement of bookings.
Hyundai is still tight-lipped about the platform or powertrain lineup of its ambitious project. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol and 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel units from the Grandeur, in a tuned-up state, are the viable candidates.
Hyundai says that the Aslan adopts the Fluidic Sculpture V2.0 design language. The prominent chrome grille and a shiny insert on the bumper are in line with the Asian tastes while the rest of the sedan is not far off from the brand's global design language.
The interior design is closely matched to that of the Genesis with plenty of shared components. The cabin is finished in leather and wood with silver accents for the AC vents.
More details about the equipment list, market positioning and prices will be announced in the coming days. Deliveries in South Korea are reported to commence towards the end of this month.
