Honda Cars India will launch the Honda Mobilio on July 23 after pre-launch bookings started last week. Honda dealers have started bookings for an amount of INR 50,000.
Honda India earlier announced that a few features which were seen on the media cars used for test drive purposes will not be available on the production model. These are a touchscreen AVN (Audio, Visual and Navigation) system, a faux-wood center panel, leatherette seat covers and illuminated side steps. Save for the AVN, other features will be optional dealer level accessories.
To recap, the Mobilio will be available with a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol engine uses the City's 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC producing 119 PS (117.32 bhp) and 145 Nm of torque, and gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI rated efficiency of the Mobilio petrol stands at 17.3 km/l.
The diesel engine is the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC motor making 100 PS (98.59 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque, and it also uses a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel Mobilio is claimed to deliver 24.2 km/l. Top-end variants of the Mobilio will get ABS, EBD, dual airbags and alloy wheels as standard.
