The Jazz and Polo are the only cars to offer an AT in their segment.

The 2015 Honda Jazz was launched in India yesterday with prices starting at INR 5.3 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. However, bookings for the premium hatchback commenced as early as June 16, 2015. While Honda Cars India did not comment on the number of bookings it had received, a report on Autocar India states that the CVT variant has accounted for the major chunk.

The CVT is offered only on two variants of the Jazz petrol.

Over 40 percent of buyers have ordered the CVT automatic variant, which is available on two variants of the Jazz petrol. The petrol manual accounts for 25 percent of bookings while the diesel, which is sold only with a 6-speed manual transmission, has received 35 percent of orders. Overall, the petrol-diesel split is at 65 percent favoring the petrol model.

Even with the case of the Elite i20, which recently hit the 1 lakh sales milestone, the petrol variant outsold the diesel model by a small margin (51,326 units of petrol and 49,180 units of diesel), indicating that petrol cars are seeing a comeback.
