Sales of the Hyundai Elite i20, which was launched in India back in August 2014, has crossed the 100,000 figure within a short span of 11 months, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced in a statement today.
The Elite i20 entered the top 10 list of best selling cars in India from its second month, and has managed to sell over 10,000 units/month for the last four months. Based on the Elite i20, HMIL also launched the i20 Active, a more rugged version of the hatchback with crossover attributes.
The Elite i20 is sold in India with a 1.2-liter Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine and a 1.4-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine. The latter is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol engine gets a 5-speed manual. For the Indian market, the Elite i20 does not get an automatic transmission.
The Elite i20 range in India is priced between INR 5.3 lakhs to INR 6.93 lakhs for the petrol variant, and between INR 6.41 lakhs to INR 8.05 lakhs for the diesel variants, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

According to reports, HMIL is set to launch a new variant of the Elite i20 with a touchscreen infotainment system next month.
