Honda Cars India Limited has introduced the top-spec Honda Amaze VX CVT variant. It's noteworthy here that until now, the automatic transmission option was available exclusively in S and V grades. The petrol-powered version is available at INR 8.56 Lakh*, while the oil-burner-equipped model costs INR 9.56 Lakh*.
The new generation Honda Amaze made its public debut at the 2018 Auto Expo and was launched in India on 22 May 2018. It registered a sales figure of 9,789 units in the first month of its launch, which made it the second-best-selling sub-4-metre sedan in the country. The Maruti Dzire-rival is available in four trims - E, S, V, and VX. Until now, the availability of the CVT was restricted to the S and V grades.
The second-gen Honda Amaze employs a 1.2-litre petrol engine that dishes out 88.7 bhp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of peak torque at 4,800 rpm. Also available is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that pushes out a maximum power of 98.6 bhp at 3600rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 1,750rpm.
