Honda has a 58 percent market share in the segment.
With BSIV emission norms set to take effect for two-wheelers from April 2017, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) has updated their best selling product to its fourth generation avatar. The Honda Activa 4G is now BSIV compliant and also gains Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature.
The Honda Activa 4G gets a revised front fascia and gets a mobile charging socket. The scooter also gets a retractable front hook. The Honda Activa also gains Matt Selene Silver Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic as new colour options. This increases the total number of colour options to 7.
Powering the Honda Activa 4G 109 cc HET mill which is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. While the power output remains the same the torque has increased from 8.83 Nm.

HMSI also offers the Honda Activa 4G with Combined Braking System with Equalizer. It helps even the brake force between the front and rear brake even when just the left lever is pressed, helping in reducing the braking distance. The Honda Activa 4G though gets only drum brakes unlike the Honda Activa 125 which gets an optional front disc brake.
The 2017 Honda Activa 4G costs INR 50,730 which is about INR 500 more than the Activa 3G.
