Will be launched later this month.
It was reported earlier this month that Hero MotoCorp will launch the Hero Passion Pro and Hero Super Splendor with i3S this festive season (October-November 2016). Now, according to a report from Gaadiwaadi, both these models are being dispatched to dealerships and will be launched in India this month.
The i3S-featuring new motorcycles are named Hero Passion Pro iSmart and Hero Super Splendor iSmart. The highlight of the iSmart models is the company's patented i3S technology, which essentially is an engine stop-start system. It helps in reducing the fuel consumption and pollution by automatically switching off the engine when idle and switching it back only when the clutch is pressed.
The Hero Passion Pro iSmart is powered by a 97.20 cc engine which produces 8.20 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm and sends power via a 4-speed transmission. The fuel economy is claimed to be 84 km/l. The Hero Super Splendor iSmart's specifications haven't been mentioned in the report; the current non-i3S model features a 124.7 cc engine good for 6.72 KW (9.12 PS/9.01 hp) and 10.35 Nm of torque.
