Though Hero Motocorp showcased scooters like the Dare and Dash at the 2014 edition of the Auto Expo, Economic Times reports that the brand plans to launch a yet-to-be shown 110 cc scooter that will rival the Honda Activa. A launch is expected in the second quarter of this calendar year.

The new Hero scooter will be squarely aimed at the Activa, which recently underwent mild model year changes.

The new scooter will launch a brand new platform for the company. Its design will have a unisex appeal, and it will come with an all-metal body which is currently missing on products like the Hero Maestro and Pleasure.

The 110 cc engine would also be a newly-developed unit, unlike the Maestro's which is borrowed from Honda (the Maestro and Activa use the same engine).
