According to a report from Livemint, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the Hero Duet 125 will launch in India by September. Hero MotoCorp showcased the Duet 125 and Maestro Edge 125 at the Auto Expo 2018.
Recently, on 25 July, a digital flyer of the Hero Duet 125 confirmed the launch of the scooter in the coming weeks. While the Duet 125 is positioned as a premium family scooter, the Maestro Edge 125 is aimed towards millennials. Both the two-wheelers come equipped with the Hero i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology, which offers better fuel economy.
The Hero Maestro Edge 125 receives a sporty design with fibre body panels and graphics. It will be available in four colour options - Matte Techno Blue, Matte Red, Matte Brown and Matte Vernier Grey.
On the other hand, the Hero Duet 125 features an all-metal body with contemporary design. The scooter gets an external fuel cap, mobile charging port, telescopic front forks, and boot light.
The Duet 125 will be available in four paint schemes - Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black, and Pearl Silver White. The Hero Duet 125 will compete with the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the Vespa LX 125. That said, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 will rival the Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq 125, and Aprilia SR 125.
Essential features on both the scooters include dual-tone mirrors, a semi-digital instrument cluster with service indicator, Integrated Braking System and tubeless tires. While the Duet 125 receives 10-inch alloy wheels at the front and back, the Maestro Edge 125 gets a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels setup. The Maestro Edge 125 also comes with an optional front disc brake and a remote key-opening.

Both Hero 125cc scooters source power from a new Energy Boost engine that is capable of generating a maximum power of 8.7 bhp at 6,750 rpm and peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine pairs to a CVT.
As for the price, the Hero Duet 125 could retail at around INR 52,000, while the Hero Maestro Edge 125 could be priced circa INR 55,000 (both prices are ex-showroom).
