Hero MotoCorp showcased the Maestro Edge 125 and the Duet 125 at the Auto Expo 2018. The company will launch the new variants before the festive season, according to a report from Bike Advice.
The Hero Duet 125 will be positioned as a premium family scooter, while the Maestro Edge 125 is intended towards younger consumers. Both scooters feature Hero’s i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology, which helps in maximizing fuel efficiency. The 125 twins will compete against the likes of Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Access 125, Aprilia SR 125 and the Vespa 125.
The Hero Duet 125 gets an all-metal body, external fuel cap, telescopic front forks, mobile charging port and boot light. The scooter also features a digital-analog instrument cluster with service indicator, dual-tone mirrors, tubeless tires and Integrated Braking System. The Duet 125 will be available in four colour options - Noble Red, Panther Black, Chestnut Bronze and Pearl Silver white.
The Hero Maestro Edge 125 features a sporty design and fibre body panels with attractive graphics. Features on the Maestro Edge are similar to the Duet 125. It gets a bigger 12-inch front alloy wheel, an optional front disc brake, LED taillight and remote key opening. The Maestro Edge will be available in Matte Red, Matte Techno Blue, Matte Vernier Grey and Matte Brown colour schemes.

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the Duet 125 are powered by a new 125cc Energy Boost Engine. This engine is capable of producing 8.7 bhp of power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. This engine will be mated to a CVT automatic transmission. These scooters are likely to carry a premium of around INR 3000-5000 over there 110 cc variants. The Hero Duet 125 is expected to be priced around INR 52,000, while the Maestro Edge 125 could be priced at INR 55,000 (both prices are ex-showroom).
