Hero Motocorp, the world's largest two-wheeler maker, announced a slew of new models this year. Some were revealed prior to the Auto Expo, some announced on the first day of the show, and some on the second day.
The Hero HX 250R sportbike was revealed before the Auto Expo with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 249 cc engine. In this video released by the company, we learn that the HX 250R is capable of accelerating from 0-60 km/h in 2.7 seconds!

Though its like comparing apples to oranges, an Audi A6 with a 3.0-liter V6 300 bhp petrol engine does 0-60 km/h in roughly the same time. Detailed specifications of the HX 250R's engine remain unannounced as of now.
We do however know that the bike weighs 139 kg and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. Braking at the front is provided by a 300 mm disc, while the rear gets a 200 mm disc. Hero announced that ABS will be an optional feature.
Other features announced for the motorcycle include twin headlights with LED guide position lights, LED stoplights, a maintenance free battery and a closed crankcase ventilation system.
Hero is expected to launch the HX 250R this year. The bike will compete with the Honda CBR 250R and the newly-launched Suzuki Inazuma.
