What happens when a Cafe Racer (let's say the Continental GT) mates with a commuter motorcycle? We found out the answer at the Auto Expo 2014 where Hero Motocorp showcased the Hero Splendor Pro Classic Cafe Racer.
The motorcycle is India's first ever 100 cc Cafe Racer. Power comes from an air cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder OHC 97.2 cc engine which produces 7.7 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 8.04 Nm at 4,500 rpm. This is matched to a 4-speed gearbox.
On the design front, the Splendor Pro Classic receives a cafe racer styling including new handle bars, a classic round headlight and taillight, a cafe racer cowl and lots of chrome parts such as front and rear fenders, winkers, suspension cover and the round shaped wing mirrors.
Weighing 109 kg, the Splendor Pro Classic features a ground clearance of 159 mm. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and a swingarm with a 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.
