Powered by a new 111 cc engine.
The product brochure of the soon-to-launch Hero Duet has been leaked online, courtesy of MotorBeam, which reveals its technical specifications and features. The 110 cc scooter is set for market debut on 29 September.
The Honda Activa competitor measures 1,830 mm in length, 725 mm in width, 1,140 mm in height, 1,240-1,245 mm in wheelbase, and 155 mm in ground clearance.
The 116 kg scooter is powered through a 111 cc engine, possibly the one that was introduced in the Hero Dash at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The engine which is the first to be self-developed by Hero MotoCorp, was tuned to produce 8.44 hp at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm at 5,750 rpm, in the Hero Dash.
As per the brochure, the 111 cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor in the Hero Duet, produces 8.43 PS maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 8.30 Nm peak torque at 6,500 rpm, mated to a CVT.
The salient features include all-metal body, telescopic front fork, steel wheels, tubeless tyres, Integrated Braking System (Combi-Braking), external fuel filler, combination-type handlebar lock, digital-analog instrument cluster with service reminder, USB power socket for charging gadgets, carry bag hooks on front, and under seat storage with night lamp.
The Duet will be available in 6 body colours, including Panther Black Metallic, Nature Green Metallic, Matt Vernier Grey, Grace Grey Metallic, Candy Blazing Red, and Pearl Silver White.
