To be launched in India as the Hero Maestro Edge.
The Hero Dash, a scooter that is yet to be launched in Hero MotoCorp's home market of India, has been unveiled in Colombia. The presentation of the brand new scooter took place in the Latin American country during the inauguration of Hero MotoCorp's new manufacturing plant there this week.
The Hero Dash was introduced as the Hero Dash concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, as a Honda Activa competitor. Recent spy shots of the Hero Dash has indicated that the scooter will be branded in India as the Hero Maestro Edge.
The scooter will reportedly be powered by a new 111 cc, single-cylinder, force-air-cooled, petrol engine, generating 8.5 bhp maximum power and 8.5 Nm peak torque.
The Hero Maestro Edge is expected to be launched in India in two variants, LX and VX. Basic features include edgy body panels with integrated turn indicators, large headlight, contrast wind deflector above the headlamp, silver coloured pillion grab handle, and fresh tail lamp design with grid lines.
Features on the scooter include telescopic front fork, traditional rear shock, and Hero's Integrated Braking System (IBS) - which applies both the brakes when the rear brake lever is pulled.
While the above are standard features, the top end VX model would benefit from a USB port for charging electronic gadgets (mobile phones), a silencer cover, and black alloy wheels.
