6-speed DCT could make a comeback on the Fiesta.
The new Fiesta was offered with a petrol engine, and the convenience of an automatic transmission, however, with the launch of the Fiesta facelift in June 2014, these models were discontinued. The Fiesta facelift comes solely with a diesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
These spyshots show the Fiesta facelift with an automatic transmission, hinting that Ford India could consider a relaunch of the 'Powershift' model. The term was used to describe the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, which came with dry sump technology and maintenance free operation for at least 10 years.
Given the evolving market preference towards an automatic transmission, Ford India could be eyeing the Fiesta Powershift to compete with the likes of the Honda City CVT, the Maruti Ciaz AT, the VW Vento TSI and the Hyundai Verna AT.
The Fiesta Powershift would get the 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which makes 112 PS and 140 Nm of torque. On the pre-facelift model, Ford India claimed 16.97 km/l, but this figure is sure to increase on the 2014 Fiesta as its design is 3 percent more aerodynamic.

Ford India also plans to introduce the 1.5-liter engine paired to the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission on the forthcoming Figo Aspire compact sedan.
