Ducati India has announced that it will be launching its sporty tourers the Ducati SuperSport and the SuperSport S in the country on September 22. Pre-bookings for the bikes have already commenced across dealerships.
The Ducati SuperSport derives its powerplant from the Multistrada 950 and the Hypermotard 939. The 937 cc Desmodromic L-twin with liquid-cooling in the UK spec churns out 110.1 PS of power at 9,000 rpm and 93 nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch; and ride-by-wire actuates the throttle.
Coming to the cycle parts, the motorcycle uses a fully adjustable 43 mm upside down Marzocchi front fork and an adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. The bike is built on a tubular steel trellis frame with an aluminium single-sided swingarm. Brakes include a dual 320 mm front discs and a single 245 mm rear disc, both with Bosch ABS. The motorcycle rolls on Pirelli Diablo Rosso III with 120-section front and a 180-section rear.
The Ducati SuperSport S on the other hand, features a Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS) for both up- and down-shifting. It also gets uprated 48 mm front Ohlins front fork and Ohlins rear monoshock.
When it comes to safety, the bikes feature Riding Modes, Power Modes, Ducati Traction Control, and Bosch ABS. Claimed mileage of both the bikes stand at 16.9 kmpl, and service interval is 15,000 km/12 months. The bikes get a 16-litre fuel tank and an adjustable windshield for comfortable touring. Expect the SuperSport to cost INR 12 lakhs, ex-showroom.
