Among the five Ducati Panigale V4 R motorcycles that are reserved for the Indian market, two have already been booked. Ducati India has confirmed that the first two Panigale V4 R motorcycles will be delivered to their owners on the track in August. Ducati India’s dealer, North Star Automotive in Delhi-NCR, booked both the units.
The Ducati Panigale V4 R has been priced at INR 51,80,000 (Ex-Showroom) and is available across all Ducati dealerships in India, in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai.
Commenting on the new announcement, Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India, said:
The Panigale V4 R is a depiction of the finest Ducati precision and racing pedigree that delivers performance akin to a MotoGP bike. Bringing that experience in India marks a special chapter for Ducati. We are very excited and proud to have the Panigale V4 R on the Indian racetracks very soon.
To give you a recap, the Panigale V4 R is a road-legal World Superbike (ESBK) category racing bike. Unlike the standard Panigale V4 (V4, V4 S and the V4 Speciale), the V4 R comes with a 998 cc 90-degree V4, Desmosedici Stradale R engine. The lower displacement than the standard Panigale V4 range aims to comply with the limits established by WSBK championship rules. The motor churns out a colossal of 221 hp at 15,250 rpm and 112 Nm at 11,500 rpm. The performance numbers can be boosted to 234 hp at 15,500 rpm through the full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust from Akrapovic.
Key features of the Panigale V4 R include MotoGP-style wings elements on the fairing, race-grade titanium-nitride-coated 43mm Ohlins NPX 25/30 front fork and Ohlins TTX 36 rear shock with mechanical adjustment (Panigale V4 S has electronic units), Brembo Stylema callipers and an aluminium swingarm with an adjustable four-position axle. The fairing has been designed and developed by Ducati Corse along with the Ducati Style Centre. The front frame has been tweaked for added stiffness.
Electronic aids come from the Panigale V4 S. The safety package, which works with 6D Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU), includes power modes (Race, Sport, and Street), launch control, multi-level traction control, quick-shifter (up and down), wheelie control, cornering ABS, Ducati Slide Control (DSC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC).
