Tweaked to be more off-road friendly.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro is being showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It premiered at the 2015 EICMA, and is bound to be launched in India this year.
The new Multistrada 1200 Enduro gets a more rugged styling with a bigger front fender, longer front beak, anodised aluminium side paneld, off-road friendly foot pegs, taller exhaust outlet, a new suspension setup than enables a longer wheel travel, 30-litre fuel tank, 30 mm higher ground clearance of 205 mm, 19-inch and 17-inch front and rear spoked wheels with 120/70 and and 170/60 dual-purpose tubeless tyres. The bike comes with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres as standard, with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres as an option for true-blue off-roading.
The riding position has also been changed, to make off-roading more comfortable, by raising the handlebars and providing a narrower seat. The height of the rear brake lever can be adjusted for better ergonomics while riding on barren land. The vitals are better protected in the new version with an aluminium sump guard for the engine and a coupling for the gear lever to safeguard it from breaking during a collision. The pillion seat is made narrower and the Plexiglass windscreen is made shorter, to aid those who stand up while riding off-road.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro is powered by the 1,199 cc V-Twin Testastretta engine with Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT) that powers the Multistrada 1200 and S variants. The motor produces 160 PS at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm at 7,500 rpm on the Enduro, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The adventure bike is claimed to provide a maximum ride-range of 450 km on a full tank of fuel.
