Bookings for the Mahindra Mojo are already open, for an advance of INR 10,000.
Speaking on the sidelines of SIAM’s annual convention in New Delhi last week, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director and President of Automotive and Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, told Autocar Professional that the long wait for the Mahindra Mojo will come to an end this month (September).
Talking about Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL), Dr. Goenka said, for the size of the company right now, having just two high volume models (the Centuro and the Gusto) is good enough, in line with the target of selling 30,000 units per month.
He added that the Mojo brand launching this month will not bring volumes for the company, rather it will be a brand shaper. Down the line, MTWL will have two-wheelers of different displacements on offer, both motorcycles and scooters, hinting that the company is busy on adding variety to the portfolio.
The company is believed to be working on a 160 cc motorcycle to compete in the tight premium commuter segment, where models like Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ/FZ-S Version 2.0, the upcoming Honda CB Hornet 160R and Honda CB Unicorn 160 are tussling for market leadership.

MTWL is also said to be working on a 125 cc variant of the Mahindra Gusto scooter launched last year. Both models are expected to be unveiled in 2016.
