The 2018 Maruti Swift will go on sale in India next month. Weeks ahead of the market launch, dealers have unofficially started taking pre-orders for the all-new Maruti Swift.
According to a report from Autocar India, dealerships are not only accepting fresh bookings but also converting 2017 Maruti Swift bookings into 2018 Maruti Swift pre-orders in the case where the former is out of stock. The old Maruti Swift went out of production towards the end of last month. Dealerships accepting the early bookings are promising deliveries by the end of next month or early March.
Underpinned by the Heartect platform, the third-gen Maruti Swift will carry over the 1.2-litre VVT petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel engines from its predecessor. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 84.3 PS at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine develops 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission or the 5-speed AGS automated manual transmission will send drive to the front wheels.
