Costs INR 15,000 more than the T variant.
Datsun is now offering a driver-side airbag on the Go hatchback and the Go+ MPV in the Indian market. The driver-side airbag is seen on a new top-end variant called the T (O), on these cars. The Datsun Go T (O) is priced at INR 4.19 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi, while the Go+ T (O) costs INR 4.81 lakhs.
Compared to the T variant which is devoid of any airbags, the T (O) represents a price increase of INR 15,000. There are no further changes to this variant though. It continues to come with body-colored bumpers, wheel covers, a speed-sensitive wiper, AC and heater, front power windows, front speakers with an AUX-in port, USB charger and a mobile-phone holder, and central locking.
The Go and Go+ are powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine capable of 68 PS and matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Go is rated at 20.63 km/l while the Go+ returns a claimed 20.6 km/l.
The Go came under the spotlight in November last year, when it failed the crash test set by the Global NCAP. Further, Global NCAP released a statement highlighting the weak structure of the car, and termed it "pointless" to fit an airbag.
