The Activ is designed at GM Korea design studio. The "youthful car" is made for the "maturing market and aspirational lifestyle of India."

Previewed to the Indian public as the Chevrolet Beat Activ concept at the Auto Expo 2016, the pseudo-crossover version of the next gen Beat will feature a more contemporary styling inspired by the Chevrolet Spark sold in Korea. It will sport new swept-back headlamps and round fog lamps, Chevrolet’s characteristic two-tier grille, black plastic cladding on the bumper and wheel arches, as well as silver skid plate.

The rear-end has been covered up, although it's certain to feature slightly updated vertical taillamps, black plastic body cladding, silver skid plate, roof spoiler and even an exposed tailpipe. The production-spec model could feature roof rails that were seen in the Beat Activ Concept.

The Activ could borrow all its hardware from the Beat, which uses a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder diesel engine. Both the engines will be paired to a 5 speed manual transmission.
