The Chevrolet Agile (to be pronounced as ah-jee-ley) is a low cost Brazilian hatchback which has been in the market since 2009.
The Agile served for people who were looking for a bigger hatchback while the now defunct Chevrolet Celta was positioned below it. However, the Chevrolet Onix which replaced the Celta is dangerously close to the Agile in terms of dimensions, thereby questioning the latter's relevance in the current market.
Nevertheless, GM Brazil has decided to extend the lifetime of the Agile by a few years with a facelift. We had brought you to spyshots of the facelifted Agile testing and now here is the latest set.
Auto Esporte reports that the 2014 Chevrolet Agile will be launched in the first week of August. The facelift exercise involves revised headlamps, grill, bumpers and taillights. The interior is also expected to undergo only subtle changes. The downsized SUV look will not be compromised by the changes.
The 1.4 litre Flex fuel engine is expected to continue the propulsive duty with some minor improvements. The motor will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Even though GM Brazil gives a new lease of life to the Agile, the Onix with its fresh appeal is expected to spearhead sales in the small car segment for Chevrolet.
