Expected to be unveiled late next year.
BMW unveiled the Concept X2 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show a fortnight back, revealing the proposed exterior design of the new SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). IAB's Shoeb R Kalania has 'productionized' the concept to give an idea of what the BMW X2 could look like when it is unveiled late next year.
The BMW X2 slots in the range of performance-oriented crossovers like the BMW X4 and X6, although it takes a different design direction. Unlike the rear-ends of the X6 and X4, the BMW X2 features a more cohesive design. The production model's exterior, BMW's chief designer Karim Habib, confirmed will remain close to the concept.
What will get carried over to the road-going version will be the aggressive and sporty roofline, short overhangs, the signature kidney grilles that are upright, and the narrow headlights, spyshots have revealed. The X2 will morph into a sporty and athletic crossover for the young enthusiast.

The BMW X2 will source more than the FWD UKL platform from the BMW X1. The latter will share its engine lineup, which includes 2.0L four cylinder petrol and diesel options as well as a 1.5L three cylinder unit. BMW’s xDrive AWD system will likely be standard in top-end grades.
European reports state that the BMW X2 will be manufactured in Regensburg, Germany, and deliveries begin in early 2018. The X2's chief rival would be the Range Rover Evoque.
