BMW Motorrad India has showcased its entry level adventure model, the BMW G 310 GS for the first time in India, at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the live images of the bike from the show.
The BMW G 310 GS is essentially the go-anywhere version of the G 310 R. The motorcycle follows the BMW GS’ design philosophy, complete with the front beak, long-travel suspension and muscular tank extensions for rugged appeal. The BMW G 310 GS is made at TVS’ Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu and is exported worldwide. The company is likely to launch the bike in mid-2018.
The G 310 GS shares its heart with its naked cousin, the G 310 R. The bike employs a 313 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. It generates 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission and the top speed stands at 143 km/h. As per the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC), the fuel efficiency is 30.03 km/l.
Coming to the cycle parts, the motorcycle comes with 41 mm upside-down front forks having gold anodised finish. The rear gets a monoshock. The front and rear suspension offer 180 mm of travel. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. Brakes include a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with switchable ABS. The motorcycle comes with an 11-litre fuel tank, and the bike weighs 169.5 kg (kerb).
