To launch globally early next year.
AutoBild has rendered the BMW 1 Series Sedan (codename - BMW F52) that will reportedly arrive in European showrooms early next year.
Though BMW is late to the entry-level premium sedan segment, the company has been knocking the doors of this segment with other models such as the Active Tourer and the 2 Series variants.
Reports say that the 1 Series sedan will feature the front-wheel drive layout (UKL1 platform) and share powertrains with the 1 Series and 2 Series vehicles, which range from a 1.5L three-cylinder petrol/diesel engine to a 2.0L four-cylinder petrol and diesel, with power outputs ranging between 109 hp to 224 hp. At an additional cost, the xDrive AWD could also fitted.
The design of the 1er sedan should be recognizable, with cues coming from the forthcoming 3 Series facelift and the recently unveiled 1 Series facelift.

Other reports say that the 1 Series sedan will make its world debut in September at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Expect the model to launch in India 6-8 months following its global rollout, to battle with the Audi A3 sedan and the Mercedes CLA Class.
