Likely in India late next year or in early 2016.
Pictures fully revealing the 2016 BMW 7 Series have surfaced on the web.
Codenamed G11, the car is not due for a launch until later this year. Speculated debuts range from March 2015 (at the Geneva Motor Show) to September 2015 (at the Frankfurt Motor Show).
The vehicle features a large kidney grille, and the signature headlamps that flow into the grille. Notably, the headlamps are laser units which launched on the BMW i8, that's on its way to India. The front bumper has a lower section that is reminiscent of the new 6 Series.
While the side profile has a strong resemblance of the current vehicle, the rear section follows the tone set by the new X6 and X4, with chiseled taillights that are split by a chrome trim.
The interior is not a far cry from today's car with a leather trimmed dashboard with wooden inserts, dual tone upholstery and a larger (touchscreen presumably) infotainment display immediately visible.
There is no official info available on the powertrain options, but European media reports say that the car would get a a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a six-cylinder, a V8, and finally the traditional 6.6-liter V12 gasoline engine outputting close to 600 bhp. The 2016 7 Series would also get a diesel variants with 2-liter and 3-liter engines, besides a plug-in hybrid variant.
In body variants, the 7 Series would welcome an XXL variant that would bridge the gap with the Rolls Royce family and compete with Mercedes-Maybach, said another report.
