To be positioned beneath the TNT 600GT
The Italian motorcycle maker has unveiled the Benelli TRK 502 at the EICMA 2015. It is a true-blue adventure tourer that will be positioned beneath the Benelli TNT 600GT.
The TRK 502 features LED headlamps, a tall windscreen, a 20-litre fuel tank, a long travel inverted telescopic fork, an adjustable monoshock and a pannier set under optional accessories. The model is based on a steel trellis frame.
It is powered by a 500 cc inline twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing 48 PS of maximum power and 45 Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle is just within the permissible power output for A2 license holders in Europe. The motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox.
The Benelli TRK 502 will compete with dual purpose motorcycles like the Honda CB500X. The model is expected to be launched in India, considering DSK-Benelli has the facility to assemble the motorcycles locally and that the segment for this kind of bikes is vacant currently. The TRK 502 could be priced under INR 5 lakh (ex-showroom) if it is brought to India via CKD route.
