Production is expected to be increased.
Bajaj announced the Bajaj V15 on February 1, 2016, and started delivering the motorcycle from the third week of March 2016. For the month of April 2016, the Bajaj V15 has entered the list of top 10 motorcycles sold in India retailing 24,057 units. The V15 was ranked 10th.
While Hero Motorcorp continues to dominate the sales chart with the Hero Splendor, Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Passion and Hero Glamour, Bajaj seems to have consolidated its position with the Bajaj CT100, Bajaj Pulsar and the Bajaj V15.
In the coming months, Bajaj expects to sell around 50,000 units of the V15. The premium commuter motorcycle is manufactured at Bajaj Auto's Pantnagar and Waluj plants, with Bajaj hoping to increase production to 1,000 units/day. Aside from the domestic market, the Bajaj V15 is also planned for exports to Africa, Latin America, West Asia and Turkey this financial year.
Power for the Bajaj V15, which contains metal from INS Vikrant, comes from a 149.5 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with DTS-i technology, capable of 11.8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. It is priced at INR 62,002, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
