New commuter motorcycle to be positioned between Discover 125 and V15.
Celebrating the spirit of invincibility with the V15, Bajaj Auto shall take a step further in the commuter motorcycle market with the new V12. Production of the Bajaj V12 has commenced and the bike is on its way to dealerships.
The Bajaj V12 can be expected to carry the same design philosophy as the bigger V15. The USP of metal from the INS Vikrant will also be carried forward till stock lasts, and badge changes will probably be the only aesthetic differentiator.
Powering the bike could be the 124.6 cc DTS-i mill from the Discover 125. The engine in the executive commuter churns out 11 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. That will put the Bajaj V12 as the most powerful commuter motorcycle, ahead of the Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour.
Bajaj has revealed that the V12 will cost about INR 56,200. The top-end Discover 125 retails at INR 51,095 while the Bajaj V15 has an asking price of INR 62,132 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
We expect the official launch of the Bajaj V12 in December.
