The Bajaj V went on sale in March and entered the list of India's top 10 selling motorcycles in April. Now, the company has announced that it has sold 1,00,000 units of the V in 120 days from its launch.
Seeing the very strong market response and forecasting the growth to continue further ahead, the company has planned to increase the production of Bajaj V soon. "We are ramping up the production by September as we are very positive that these numbers will only continue to grow and sustain the Bajaj V as one of the bestselling premium commuter motorcycles in the country," Mr. Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, said.

The Bajaj V's key selling point is its connection with the INS Vikrant. The motorcycle's tank is built from metal of the India's first indigenously-built aircraft carrier which was decommissioned in 1997 after 36 years of service. The premium commuter is powered by the 149.5 cc DTS-i single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 12 PS (11.83 hp) and 13 Nm of torque and sends drive to the wheel via a 5-speed transmission.
