In August this year, Triumph and Bajaj announced that they had inked a partnership to develop mid-segment motorcycles. This partnership will bear its first fruits by 2021 which is when the jointly developed 200-500 cc motorcycle(s) is slated to arrive in the market.
Paul Stroud, Triumph Director of sales and marketing, speaking to PTI at EICMA 2017 in Milan said:
We are expecting to be launching first products in markets like in early 2021.
The two companies are currently in the process of finalising the finer details of the agreement. The bikes will be manufactured at Bajaj's facility in Chakan near Pune. However, the products will bear a Triumph badge.
The partnership will help Triumph enter new high-volume market segments, especially in emerging markets world over, thanks to Bajaj’s international presence.
