Could be powered by a KTM-derived engine.
Having launched two products in the 200 cc segment, and an all-new motorcycle in the 150 cc segment, Bajaj Auto will now turn its focus towards the 400 cc segment. The brand showcased the Pulsar CS400 and the SS400 concepts at the Auto Expo last year, with intention of launching them in the market.
Speaking to PTI, Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto, said that the Pulsar 400 will be launched "some point in this financial year". Upon launch, the Pulsar 400 will be the new flagship of the brand, he confirmed.
The SS400 or the Super Sport 400 featured similar styling as the RS200 which was launched recently. Just like the RS200, the SS400 features dual projector headlights, LED taillights, a well-chiseled tank and a semi-digital instrument cluster. The motorcycle had large diameter disc brakes at both ends, and Bajaj is sure to offer ABS when it launches the product.

On the other hand, the CS400 sports a street-fighter design with a focus on providing an ergonomic posture for long rides. At the time of showcase, Bajaj said that the CS400 was 50 percent production ready, though the company did not disclose engine specifications of both motorcycles. Reports suggest that a KTM-derived engine could power these new flagship offerings.
