Expected to launch in India in the first half of this year.
In a recent event that took place in Indonesia, the Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS was spotted alongside the new Pulsar 200 AS (Adventure Sports, semi-faired Pulsar based on the 200 NS).
The Pulsar 200 SS recently showcased was seen with ABS. Earlier spyshots showed that the bike came without ABS, indicating that the new Pulsar 200 SS would be available in both ABS as well as non-ABS flavors. It is rumored that the new Pulsar would be launched with a single-channel ABS system developed by Bosch.
Internally the Pulsar 200 SS would be near identical to its brother, the Pulsar 200 NS, as it would boast the same 199.5 cc engine that would be capable of producing 23.52 bhp and 18.3 Nm of torque. The engine would be liquid-cooled and would be mated to a six-speed gearbox to unleash its power on the road.
The difference would be in the injection, where the 200 NS offers the old-school carburetor system, the Pulsar 200 SS would offer fuel injection, aiding for better and smoother power delivery, while keeping fuel economy intact.

The Pulsar 200 SS is expected to launch very soon in India, even before the first half of 2015. As it has always been the trend, the fully-faired Bajaj would be priced slightly lower than its similarly-engined KTM RC 200. Keeping that in mind, the Pulsar 200 SS would be priced between 1.2-1.4 lakh (ex-showroom) with a difference of about Rs 10,000-15,000 between the ABS and non-ABS variants.
