Earlier this month, Bajaj Auto extended the special “Good Bye 2018” offer to the Dominar 400. Under the limited period offer, Bajaj is giving benefits of five free (labour only) services, free five-year own damage insurance and a free five-year warranty on the purchase of the Dominar 400. In more updates, a Bajaj Dealer from Bengaluru – Khivraj Bajaj – is offering a Furygan jacket worth INR 10,000 free with every Dominar 400.
Bajaj Auto sold just 659 units of its flagship motorcycle in October, 1,095 units in September, 1,122 units in August, 1,381 units in July, 1,277 units in June and 1,191 units in May 2018. Moreover, Bajaj dealers would be targeting to clear the inventory of the current model before the updated 2019MY Dominar arrives.
A report from earlier this month suggested that the 2019 Dominar 400 would receive a more powerful engine tuning and a flat torque curve, and the bike would feel more refined than before.
Spy images reveal a mild revision to the colour theme and updated hardware specifications that would include upside-down telescopic front suspension, a new exhaust design and a larger radiator. A report from October 2018 claimed that the 2019 upgrade would also bring ride-by-wire throttle system, and updated instrumentation with features like a gear-position indicator, average fuel efficiency, distance to empty and instantaneous fuel economy to the package.
The model will retain all existing features that include full LED headlight, split instrument console, MRF tyres and dual-channel ABS.

The feature-rich Dominar 400 hopes to compete better against the BMW G310 R and the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650. The updated model is expected to carry a marginal premium over the current model ABS which retails for INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom). Do note that Bajaj has discontinued the non-ABS variant of the Dominar 400.
