The switch to BSIV had been announced well in advance.
The apex court’s judgement banning the sale of BSIII vehicles post-March 31, 2017 has been a welcome change for the greater good of the environment but has made automakers announce a plethora of discounts as a stock clearance measure.
Hero MotoCorp, which is the most affected brand with the largest stockpile of BSIII models is offering a cashback of INR 5,000 on the Hero HF Deluxe and Hero Splendor Plus. The rest of the range has a cashback of INR 7,500 while the scooter like the Hero Maestro Edge and Hero Duet have an applicable cashback of INR 12,500.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd is offering a discount of INR 13,500 on the Honda Activa 3G, Honda Livo, Honda Dio and Honda Aviator. Discount on motorcycles, including the Honda CBR150R and Honda CBR250R are ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 30,000. There have been instances when a Honda Navi has been given for free along with the Honda CBR250R, if purchased without a discount.

Bajaj Auto, which has been very vocal about supporting the move to BSIV, also has a small stock of BSIII models. They are offering a discount of INR 12,000 on the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and INR 7,000 on the entire Bajaj Pulsar and Bajaj Avenger range. The V15, Discover and Platina have a discount tag of INR 5,000 while the entry level Bajaj CT100 will save you INR 3,000. Both Hero and Bajaj are also offering free insurance with their products.
These offers are only applicable till today and only on BSIII models.
