The Audi A3 sedan has been spotted testing for yet another time in Mumbai, on this occasion by a Team-BHP.com member named 'RMan'.
Manufactured in Gyor, Hungary, deliveries of the A3 sedan began last week in the UK, while a few European dealers have also started offering the compact sedan that premiered at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013.
Audi India's previous CEO Michael Perschke confirmed that the A3 sedan would have a launch price of under 25 lakh rupees. The A3 sedan would also carry the distinction of being the first budget three-box from a premium brand, that is if Mercedes doesn't rush with the launch of the CLA Class.
For the UK market (the RHD A3's first port of call) the A3 comes with two petrol and one diesel engine option. The base variant is a 1.4-litre TFSI with 138bhp on tap. Next up is the 1.8-liter TFSI that produces a meatier 177bhp, paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, with a 0-100kph sprint time of just 7.3 seconds.
Currently the Audi A3 Sedan is offered in just one diesel option, a 2.0-liter TDI engine that churns out 150hp and 320Nm of torque paired to a manual transmission. In December, a smaller 1.6-liter TDI (used on the Vento and Rapid saloons in India) is expected to join the lineup.
