Ather Energy has updated its website with the revised prices of the 340 and the 450 electric scooters. While the ex-showroom prices remain unchanged, the on-road (Bangalore) cost has increased due to revised insurance rates and added CESS. The new prices are INR 3,480 (on-road Bangalore) costlier than before.

In other recent development, Ather Energy has announced that it will commence operations in Chennai in June. Pre-orders in Chennai are open. Potential buyers, who register through the Pre-Order Interest option, can avail early access privileges, priority deliveries and invitations to test rides and exclusive events.
Ather Energy will launch the 450, 340 and the Ather Grid public charging infrastructure in Chennai. Like in Bengaluru, the Ather Grid will be located at places such as malls, tech-parks and cafes. The company will also offer free charging to all-electric vehicles for the first six months.

Both Ather electric scooters feature identical styling and features. They are distinguished based on the power output, range and acceleration. The Ather 450 has a range of 75 km per full charge. It can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 3.9 seconds and go up to 80 km/h. The Ather 340 has a range of 60 km. Its 0-40 km/h acceleration time and top speed are 5.1 seconds and 70 km/h respectively. The feature list of both models includes full-LED lighting, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen for onboard navigation and other smart functions and 24-litre storage space.
