After unveiling the 2020 Hyundai Verna at the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show last month, Beijing-Hyundai has finally launched it in China. The facelifted Hyundai Verna's prices start at CNY 72,800 (INR 7,32,103.74) in China.
As already known, the 2020 Hyundai Verna comes completely transformed into a much sharper and modern looking model. The exterior updates are so extreme that it appears to be a next-gen model, not a facelifted one. The new model features a much aggressive front-end with new headlamps, sharper three-dimensional radiator grille and a more muscular bumper which takes design cues from the 2019 Hyundai Elantra. Coming on to the rear, the new bumper appears to be beefier and makes the car look longer than before. The new tail lamps have a polarising look, though. The profile of the facelifted model remains the same, save for newly designed machined alloy wheels in a dual-tone colour scheme.
Inside, the changes might not seem as extreme as on the outside. The 2020 Hyundai Verna has the same steering wheel and dashboard layout. What's new is a 12.3-inch fully-digital LCD instrument panel and a larger, 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from that, the car also gets wireless phone charging and automatic trunk opener has been added for more convenience.
In terms of dimensions, the 2020 Hyundai Verna measures 4,405 mm in length, 1,720 in width and 1,455 mm in height and has a wheelbase is 2,600 mm. It can be specified with 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels. As for the mechanicals, the facelifted Hyundai Verna sources power from the G4LC 1.4L naturally aspirated petrol engine which is known to deliver 100 PS of maximum power and 132.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed AT or a CVT. The car is rated to do a top speed of 185 km/hr.
