The Malaysian-spec 2019 Yamaha YZF-R15 has received visual upgrades in the form of new colours and graphics. It is priced at RM11,988 (ex-showroom), which roughly translates to INR 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom).

Race Blu, Matte Yellow and Black are the colour options for the Malaysian-spec 2019 Yamaha YZF-R15. The three colour options are also available for the Thai-spec version, for THB 97,500 (or approximately INR 2.27 lakh). The Indian-spec 155 cc motorcycle, which comes with conventional front forks, retails at INR 1,40,280 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The specifications of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 sold in Malaysia have remained unchanged. The hardware specifications retain the premium inverted front forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. Braking setup continues to include 282 mm front and 220 mm rear discs. Other key features comprise full-LED headlight, LCD instrument console, Deltabox frame and an aluminium swingarm.
The engine, like that of the Indian-spec model, is a 155 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC motor with Variable Valve Actuation that pumps out 19.3 PS of peak power and a max torque of 14.7 Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox with assist/slipper clutch. The motorcycle comes with a two-year or 20,000 km warranty.
In other updates, Yamaha has introduced the YZF-R15 V3.0-based neo-retro motorcycle, the XSR155 in Thailand. Indonesia is likely to get it next, and Malaysia could join the list too. The Indian launch hasn't been confirmed.

In India, Yamaha will start rolling out its BS-VI compliant motorcycles in November 2019 and BS-VI updated scooters in January next year, well ahead of the April 2020 deadline set by the government to comply with the new emission norms. Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies has said that the BS-VI models will be 10%-15% costlier.
