The petrol-heads and modification experts at K-Speed have transformed the retro-style Yamaha XSR155 into an off-road-ready maniac. K-Speed stripped away most of the stock body panels and replaced them with aftermarket units for a rugged appearance.

The front fascia, for example, features a twin-pod headlight setup that sits on the extended crash guard. The illumination department is further enhanced by a pair of auxiliary lights. The front fender has been completely removed for a minimalistic look to the modified XSR155. The cockpit retains the factory-installed, single-pod instrument console. The handlebar, too, carries the single-piece, flat-style layout, although the stock switchgear has been replaced by aftermarket switches.
The stock fuel tank retains its shape although the top-centre now gets a custom garnish. The rider-only saddle follows the tank, and it is installed on the modified sub-frame. A small luggage rack sits behind the custom seat. Twin-pod exhaust outlets and an aftermarket taillight occupy the space under the rider seat for better ground clearance. The stock engine cowl is retained, but it gets the same paint finish as the fuel tank.
Several mechanical changes are also visible on the modified motorcycle. The front brake rotor, for example, is visibly different from the stock unit. The updated braking setup uses Brembo-sourced callipers. The rear shock absorber, too, is an aftermarket unit instead of the factory-fitted hardware. The front continues to use inverted forks.
The stock alloy wheels are traded for wire-spoke units. Shod with off-road spec knobby tyres, the bike gets a go-anywhere styling. The delta-box frame and swingarm remain identical to the standard motorcycle.
Changes to the mechanical specifications are not mentioned. The stock XSR155, for reference, shares its motor with the YZF-R15 V3.0 and the MT-15. The 155 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine benefits from Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system for better performance throughout the rev range. Linked to a six-speed transmission (with slipper and assist clutch), the motor delivers 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm.

The modified Yamaha XSR155 from K-Speed is an interesting take on the retro-style motorcycle. Yamaha itself presented three custom-built variants of the XSR155 – cafe racer, scrambler and a tracker – at a motoring event in Thailand.
