Ducati Diavel 1260 and Diavel 1260 S launched in India

Ducati India has announced the launch of the new Diavel 1260 and the Diavel 1260S. The standard variant of the power cruiser is available at INR 17.70 lakh*m while the premium, S variant retails at INR 19.25 lakh*.

The Ducati Diavel 1260 comes with several visual and mechanical upgrades over its predecessor, the Diavel 1200. The biggest upgrade on the motorcycle is the new mill with a displacement of 1,262 cc. Both the variants feature identical engine specifications. The 1,262 cc L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled, 8-valve Ducati Testastretta motor with Desmodromic Variable Timing makes 159 hp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm of maximum torque at 7,500 rpm. The selectable riding modes include Sport, Touring and Urban. Each riding mode comes with pre-defined parameters for power output, traction control, ABS level, engine braking, etc. All riding modes can be customised as per the rider’s preference.

The more premium, S version comes with fully adjustable Öhlins suspensions at the front and rear and Brembo M50 callipers to grab the discs. The Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Evo and Ducati Multimedia System with Ducati Link App come as standard accessories on the S version. The standard bike, on the other hand, uses Brembo M4.32 callipers. The DQS system can be added as an optional accessory to the base version.

A 6-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU) works with the comprehensive electronic package of the motorcycle. The rider aids on the new Ducati 1260 includes Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and Ducati Power Launch (DPL) EVO. The power cruiser also features full LED lighting, backlit handlebar switches, 3.4-inch TFT display, tyre hugger mounted number plate and blinkers, cruise control system and a 240-section wide rear tyre.

Visually, the motorcycle is instantly identifiable as a Diavel, although Ducati has made several changes to the styling for enhanced aesthetics. The Diavel 1260 is available in Sandstone Grey with black frame. The Diavel 1260S can be bought in two livery options:

  • Thrilling Black and Dark Stealth with red frame
  • Sandstone Grey with black frame
