Apart from the Pulsar 180F ABS, the Pulsar 150 range and the Dominar 400 (UG) have witnessed a price hike. The Pulsar 150 Neon received the highest price increase in the 150 range - INR 2,950. The 2019 Dominar 400 (UG), on the other hand, is available at INR 1,80,001** now, as against INR 1,74,125** before the price hike.
The reason behind the price change is not available, but it is most likely due to the increased input costs. While the ex-showroom prices have seen a marginal increase, the on-road prices may go even higher over the coming weeks. The road and transport ministry plan to increase the registration fee for two-wheelers to INR 1,000, as against INR 50 currently. If implemented, the on-road prices for all two-wheelers would go considerably higher.
The standard 180 (naked roadster) has been discontinued from the Indian market and the 180 cc portfolio only comprises the Pulsar 180F. The 180F benefits from semi-fairing and vertically stacked headlights that draw inspiration from the Pulsar 220F. The Bajaj Pulsar 180F is available in two colour options – Neon Orange and Neon Red. The Neon Orange comes in a matte look while the Neon Red gets a glossy finish.
Engine specifications on the Pulsar 180F are identical to the Pulsar 180 naked roadster. The 178.6 cc air-cooled DTS-i motor delivers 17.02 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.22 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle features a disc brake on both wheels along with a single-channel ABS and Rear Lift-off Protection (RLP).
In other updates, Bajaj Auto is preparing to introduce a new entry-level model of the Pulsar family, the Pulsar 125, in August. The Pulsar 125 will draw styling cues from the existing Pulsar 150 range. Mechanical specifications would reportedly be the same as that of the Pulsar 135 (discontinued). Thus the single-cylinder, air-cooled engine should churn out 13.5 BHP (13.68 PS) of maximum power and approximately 12 Nm of peak torque.
